Zero-Drop™ Footwear
These shoes hold a special place in the heart of Take it on the Run. They were the very first brand that I carried and they were willing to take a chance on a guy with a dream of running a shoe store out of his home. These shoes were also the first dip into the world of Zero-Drop for me. What is great about these shoes is the “support” get from them. Not support in the typical shoe sense, but they took the time and care to print an “Educational” section right on their box to ensure clients were getting the right instructions on how to go minimal.
Since going with Altra, I have had the good fortune to try out a bunch of thier shoes and I am a huge fan of everything I’ve put on my feet. Here’s a first hand account of what I’ve tried and why they are great.
- Instinct – From a day to day trainer to a racing flat, these shoes are light weight and provide a really nice landing pad for your feet when they hit the ground, not too fluffy, not too stiff, just right.

- Lone Peak – A rugged shoe that provides a great deal of protection from rocks and other fun sharp stuff you can find on the trail. They look even better when they’re dirty.

- Adam – This is my go-to shoe for the weekends. They are super lightweight & comforatable. Its as close to walking barefoot as I have found. I haven’t taken them out on too many runs but my feet really like being in them.
